Free Dentistry in Toledo
Friday, February 6, 2009 at 10:26AM Dental care will be given to 300 area children
More than 300 children from the greater Toledo area will receive free dental services Friday, February 6th during the seventh annual Give Kids a Smile Day.
The participating youths have already scheduled their services during the day, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the three participating locations — Dental Center of Northwest Ohio, the University of Toledo Medical Center’s dentistry department, and the Owens Community College dental hygiene clinic.
The event, organized by the Ohio Dental Association, gathers dentists and volunteers to educate, examine, and treat children who do not have dental care. The children will receive a dental exam, preventive care, oral hygiene instruction, Toothprints, referrals for follow-up care, oral-care products, and educational materials.

The Dental Hygiene program at
Owens Community College’s Toledo-area
Campus operates a Dental Hygiene Clinic
September through May. The 20-chair
clinic, open to adults and children, is staffed
by dental hygiene students supervised by
licensed dental professionals.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic is located in
Health Technologies Hall on the Toledo-area
Campus. Just five minutes from downtown
Toledo, the campus is easy to find. Take I-75 to
exit 198 (Wales Road exit). Turn right on Oregon
Road and go south about a mile. The five-story
Health Technologies Hall is on the right and is
marked by the Owens name on top.
The Clinic is on the second floor of Health
Technologies Hall. Metered parking is
available next to the building. Bus service is
