Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 01:17PM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The phone numbers for those who want to schedule free health care at the MedWorks clinic on Nov. 6 and 7 were released today.
Northeast Ohio residents struggling to obtain health care can use the numbers to sign up for free medical and dental appointments, mammograms, flu shots, X-rays and lab tests.
The two-day clinic, co-sponsored by the community health center Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, will be held at its offices at 8300 Hough Ave.
The services are designed to help those who have no insurance or so little that they can't afford to pay for medical, dental and other medical care.
MedWorks patient Deborah Wallace thanks Zac Ponsky for helping organize the two days of free health care provided at the first MedWorks clinic in July 2010. MedWorks' sixth free clinic will take place Nov. 6 and 7.
Representatives of the Ohio Benefit Bank also will be available to help patients apply for Medicaid and food, energy, housing and other assistance.
To schedule an appointment, call 216-858-6250 or, toll-free, 1-877-790-7370. Volunteers will answer the phone lines from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 25. The lines will re-open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, if appointments remain.
