Eastman Dental Center
As the oral health diagnostic and treatment facility affiliated with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, we deliver high quality dentistry and advanced training for dentistry's future leaders. We work in close cooperation with the Aab Institute's Center for Oral Biology at Rochester, translating research into effective clinical care.
A Comprehensive Approach
We believe that every person, no matter what their income level, should have access to dental care and our programs and services in preventive and primary dentistry are designed to make sure that happens. No matter how our patients come to us, our patient care plans involve the dentist and the physician, and often the medical specialist, all working together to develop and deliver a comprehensive treatment program for our patient's improved health.
The Eastman Dental Center provides comprehensive general dental care as well as care in specialized areas, such as:
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Orthodontics
- Dentofacial orthopaedics
- Pediatric dentistry
- Peridontology
- Prosthodontics
- Our Craniofacial Genetics Clinic focus on genetic deformities such as cleft lip and/or palate.
- The Salivary Dysfunction Center treats hundreds of patients who suffer from dry mouth and related problems.
-
These programs are in addition to the other treatment programs offered to medically compromised patients such as those receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapies – all of which interact with oral health.
The Eastman Dental center has also developed a network of over 30 community outreach programs for children and adults to reach patients who may not otherwise have access to dental care. These programs include:
- Seven satellite clinics at Rochester public schools
- The Downtown Health Care Center Dental Clinic
- The Smilemobile–a dental clinic on wheels
- Clinics for the disabled and elderly at Monroe Community Hospital
- AIDS/HIV treatment at the Eastman Dental Center and Strong Memorial Hospital
